VSCC cyclone cutter
VSCC cyclone cutter is suitable for PM2.5 cutters of all FRM samplers on the market, and is suitable for various ambient air particulate matter sample
Product details
VSCC cyclone cutter
Application
PM2.5 cutter suitable for all FRM samplers on the market
Suitable for various environmental air particulate matter samplers and air particulate matter PM2.5 monitors
PM2.5 continuous particulate matter detector inlet
Indoor air quality sampling inlet
Air toxicity sampling and special sampling
Laboratory aerosol research separator
characteristic
Compared to the BGI cyclone cutter (SCC), the new cyclone cutter with significantly improved design achieves clearer penetration and segmentation point performance
As a reference method for EPA, 24-hour sampling can be conducted for 30 days before a single cleaning
Dry sampling (no need for oil or maintenance of the impact substrate), easy and convenient on-site cleaning
No tools needed, replace traditional WINS impact sampling directly
The cutter for the only designated reference method by the US Environmental Protection Agency (RFPS-0498-116)
The second step particle size selector of the PM2.5 sampler, the reference method of the Environmental Protection Agency, is based on WINS (Well Impactor Nine Six). The impact particle separator has achieved the expected results in both laboratory and outdoor applications. Years of usage experience have confirmed that the design of single channel and sequential sampling is feasible. However, it is still necessary to find an alternative selector that can achieve functions such as extended cleaning intervals, dry collection systems, and easy cleaning. This type of selector would be perfect for continuous samplers that are maintained once a month. It can eliminate the effects of aerosol and gas formation when passing over liquid surfaces, and can be cleaned on-site with lint free cloths and deionized water, eliminating the need for additional impact vessels and laboratory cleaning, which can greatly reduce costs.
Based on the need for such selectors, Dr. Lee Kenny from BGI and Sheffield Health and Safety Laboratory in the UK We have jointly developed a fine particle cyclone cutter. This selector is the pinnacle of a series of cyclone cutter research projects, and it has an excellent match with the WINS infiltration curve as shown in the figure below, thus successfully passing the equivalent method test of the US EPA. When used in conjunction with BGI PQ200, VSCC is designated as the equivalent sampler EQPM-0202-1428 by the US EPA. On October 17, 2006, the device was upgraded from an equivalent method to a reference method.

This is the first and only PM2.5 equivalent method authorized by the US Environmental Protection Agency. The US Environmental Protection Agency authorizes BGI to produce cutters for all standard method PM2.5 FRM samplers. VSCC is an "insert type" cutter that can completely replace traditional impact separators.
